George the Monkey

She had to bring George everywhere with her for three days and write about his adventures in a journal for 2nd grade. All the 2nd grade kids loved having George. I loved reading all the things George got to do ... golfing, hula lessons, hip hop, swimming, lots of church (he was bored), Sharks games, out to eat, etc.

Deck with limited days left

Yeah! We tore out the deck and replaced with a paver patio. Let us know your thoughts. We ordered pavers in three colors: green, light gray and dark gray, and three sizes. The design is random and covers about 1,000 square feet. We love it.

Back yard Before

Pergola left its tracks on the house wall. The couch and rug were both ruined by the pergola falling on top of it. We re-painted the exterior.

Deconstructing the deck

As always, only takes a day or two to rip out a deck vs. the days to install it.

Patio in process

The buckets are to protect the kids from the brackets for future pergola posts.

Sanctuary area

Originally built as a sanctuary area for the adults ... but with the new artwork (next post) we all hang out here. We widened the area ... so this picture is of the pavers in process.

Kids art work on outside wall

We had a fun day with Auntie Tricia and her kids painting the side wall of the house. All the kids each painted different flowers and got nice and messy. Fun!

Built in flower containers

We added flower containers that have sprinklers built-in. These semi-circles also serve as additional seating for large parties.

Lower patio

We bought a dining table that extends to seat 10-12. Several chairs are on backorder,.. The table is contracted to seat six.

New Pergola picture

Here is the pergola, sturdy and strong. Took David three days to paint and the crew three days to build. The electrician put up tasks lights and rope lighting around the perimeter. It looks great at night.
